5 Things To Change If You Want To Fulfill Purpose Series – Pt.2

Have you ever took inventory of your time? Measured how much time is being spent and where it’s being spent?

I once read a devotional where we had to take inventory of our time for a few days. In my early 20’s my time looked like this:

8am – Wake up

Stay in the bed for another 2 hours scrolling through social media.

Get up, shower and make something to eat by 11am.

Hmmm…I should start my reading for the week but I feel like reorganizing my closet all of a sudden, so let’s use about 3 hours for that.

2pm – I’m exhausted so now I need a nap before I start my assignments for the week.

Then what was supposed to be a quick nap turned into a full six hours of sleep.

Now its 8pm and I’ve accomplished absolutely nothing for the day and I need to get ready for work tomorrow.

If you’re going to walk in your purpose, some of the things you do are going to have to change. But the way to begin identifying what needs to be changed is by first taking inventory.

Are your habits leading you closer and deeper into your purpose?

Are you investing the appropriate amount of time into researching, planning and organizing what’s needed for your purpose to be fulfilled?

Ask yourself this: What am I doing?

One of the things that I learned when I really started walking in my purpose, was that I can’t do everything and be everywhere for everyone.

Likewise, you’re going to have to learn to say no. No, I can’t come out to happy hour today, I need to work on my business plan. No, I can’t sit here and binge-watch Power, I need to be reading on how to better connect with my clients.

What are you doing?

Is watching others fulfilling their purpose going to magically make yours appear?

Are your habits creating the right opportunities for your purpose to be taken to the next level?

Is swiping all day on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter feeding life into your purpose?

What are you doing?

If you can’t answer that question, then great! This is the perfect opportunity for you to create habits that will help you walk in your purpose every day!

  1. Take Inventory of your time and daily habits.
  2. Identify the areas/habits that need to be changed.
  3. Implement new habits that will bring you closer to fulfilling purpose.

Time makes us all rich. We have the same amount of time as Bill Gates and Beyoncé.

What we do with our time is what will determine how (and if) we walk in our purpose.

    I was dealing with just that a few weeks ago and when I realized my time was being wasted on the most mundane things.

  2. Yes yes and yes! I used to be the same way, sometimes I still fall into the slump trap where I just want to do nothing all day but that does nothing but hold you back. I’ve never been bad at doing what I needed to do, but there areee times (lol) where I put something ahead of what I need to be doing that I regret later on because it wasn’t even worth it, like going out when I could have just stayed my butt at home lol. Lessons that sure have taught me well. Great post Coach C 🤗💕 I was waiting for your Tuesday post + wisdom.


  3. Reading this challenge me, Christine!

    I’d recently been in a slump for two days and failed to take inventory of my time. I think we all, from time to time, get ourselves involved in activities, people…etc, that do not contribute to our purpose.

    It’s important to analyze how we spend our time and regularly look for ways to improve, grow, and eliminate wasting time.

    This was a well-needed post! Thank you love 😉


  4. What am I doing today ? Nothing but, watching being Mary Jane lol(let me get serious) ohhhhh I love Tuesdays just because of you. This was well needed right now because idk , after being on my break – it feels like I’m still on a break and I need to get back being motivated again + kicking fear and stop worrying all the time(baby steps). One thing for sure is we can’t please everyone and we’re not meant to please everyone and we shouldn’t waste time and energy on things that doesn’t give us purpose to our lives. Thank you sis ❤️
