3 Things 2017 Taught Me: Pt.3

I cant believe that this is the last post for 2017! (insert ugly cry)

2017 has been an AMAZING year for me. I was able to start coaching, blogging, joined amazing blog communities, started my degree in Life Coaching and also got accepted into a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy program for next year. Spiritually, I’ve been growing. God has been stretching and using me; He keeps showing me more of my purpose every day and it’s been so exciting!

The most important thing that 2017 taught me is…

I have all the time in the world.

Yup. I know that the world says time is money, time is short, don’t waste time and to a certain extent that is true.

We live in a time where we think we have to get things done right away.

You have to launch that business now. You have to release that idea today. You have to!

Huh? Says who?

I think sometimes we don’t give ourselves enough time to creatively explore and even time to just critique things before we launch.

Honestly, many of us launched things this year that were all over the place, that weren’t properly planned out nor executed because we didn’t give ourselves enough time to do so.

We get so excited and neglect the processing time that needs to take place. That is something that I just recently learned. I’m in a time of discovery and exploration as my spiritual mom says, and that’s okay!

I received the name “Changed by Purpose” and I ran with it. I have been able to help bring clarity to some and encourage others to pursue their purpose…but that’s not all that I want to write about nor is it all that I want to coach individuals on. So in 2018 be expecting a major change. I’m giving myself time. Time to:

Make mistakes

and Execute.

With all the new year’s resolutions and vision board planning going on, make sure to set REALISTIC time frames for yourself. Don’t rush and jump to keep up with the Joneses.

Treat yourself kindly by giving yourself time to put the best version of yourself out.

Have a wonderful holiday and HAPPY NEW YEAR! See you in 2018!

I love you all

Coach Christine

  1. Wow I love this post. I often feel like I’m racing against time, especially as I get older. You make a great point about the ways that time can be useful as you cultivate your craft before launching something. You message came to me at the perfect time, as I set out to go on winter break. Initially I was making a list of all the videos and blog post that I want to complete, but I might use this time to just focus on getting down some editing skills. Thank you!

  2. Yes! Omg, 2017 made me slow all the way down. It’s crazy when you dtart taking your time you dtart realizing how best to focus yourself and your energy. Shoutout to taking it slow and being realistic in 2018!

  3. I loved this! Taking more time in late 2016 and early 2017, while I was traveling and living abroad, helped me launch my travel blog towards the middleish-end of 2017. If I had launched it before I left, I wouldn’t have been able to focus on the trips as much because I would be behind a computer writing about them. So yes to slowing down and focusing on blogging, and re-branding in 2018!

  4. Whew!!! 2017 definitely made me push the “pause” and “reset” button, especially these last 3 months. I’m going into 2018 with a new focus and creating with more intention next year. Sometimes, slowing down will push closer to your goals!

  5. This is awesome content– 2017 was definitely a year for stopping, reflecting and giving things the time they need to be executed properly. Thank you for sharing!

  6. Timing is everything, but God’s timing is perfect!

I agree, and I can attest to this in my own life where I’d rushed ahead just to say, I did it! And because it wasn’t the right time, I created unnecessary chaos that could have been avoided if I had just waited a little while longer. I have many learned lessons from 2017 that I will be applying in 2018.

So proud of you, Christine. 2018 will be everything plus more!
